Here’s a great little summation on puppy training:

From Tam Mrose: “fixing food aggression towards people; either real or part of a re-direct. Feed at a ‘station’. When feeding pups, feed separately. Hold some food back from the ration and as soon as the dog starts to eat, add that food to the bowl, “here, let me give you some more”. Occasionally make it a really yummy treat. Eventually when you approach the bowl the dog will look up, happily and expectantly for you to add to the dish. Never take food away from a dog if you want to discourage resource guarding.”
